Deborah Marie “Debbie” Bruens, age 63, of Cassopolis, died peacefully Tuesday, February 15, 2022, in the comfort of her family’s presence. Her life began August 1, 1958, in Romulus, Michigan, the second of seven children born to Charles and Dorothy Gale Larson. She married Donald Bruens September 21,1996 in Cassopolis. Debbie was an amazing mom, not just to her own kids, but to the whole town. She loved the outdoors and taking care of her pond. She had a collection of over three thousand elephants. She had a love for all animals.
Debbie will be greatly missed by family and friends. She is survived by her husband of twenty-five years, Don Bruens of Cassopolis; three sons Chaad (Shay) Anglemyer of Elkhart, Indiana; Jerame (Tierah) Anglemyer of Edwardsburg, Alex (Britney) Anglemyer of Williamsburg, Kentucky; nineteen grandchildren, Zoe, Alexavier, Aidin, Emmalee, Adrian, Angel, Trinity, Rodney, Chaad Jr., Michael, Owen, Dion, Malykhi, Breanna (Sami), Trevor, Janayla, Makayla, Ashlyn, Matilynn; one great-granddaughter, Abriella; four sisters, Pauline (Jamie) Brown of Florida, Dorothy Prugh of Mishawaka, Indiana, Tammy Honey of Elkhart, Indiana, Le Ann Wyly of Elkhart, Indiana; one step-daughter, Kathy Turpin of Elkhart, Indiana; one brother, Charles Larson of Kentucky; five honorary daughters, Stephanie, Venus, Sarah, Stacey, Chantana; nine honorary sons, Beatle, Mike, Danny, Gary, David, Renaldo, Daniel, Dennis, Brandon, Nate; one honorary brother, Bill; four honorary sisters, Sue, Pam, Shirley, Glenda; her fur babies, Baby Girl, Shadow; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Jerry, Jr.; twin daughters, Mindy and Angel; one brother Leonard Larson; and one daughter-in-law Kelly Northrop. Special thanks to Sarah Franklin who spent many hours sitting and talking. This meant a lot to Deb.
