She eventually relocated her membership to Maryland in 2006 and became an adult Sunday school teacher at Open Door Baptist church in Washington, DC, under the tutelage of Pastor Bernard Taylor until her departure from life. Debbie was a dedicated member who knew the Lord and was passionate for Christ.

Bible Verse:
Nehemiah 8:10 NIV “Do not grieve for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”
2 Corinthians 5:8 NIV “We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord”.
Poem:
God saw you getting tired when a cure was not to be.
So He wrapped his arms around you
And whispered, “Come to me”.
You didn’t deserve what you went through,
so He gave you rest.
God’s garden must be beautiful;
He only takes the best.
And when I saw you sleeping so peaceful and free of pain, I could not wish you back to suffer that again.
