Westerly, RI – Debbie O’Connor, 62, formerly of Waterbury, died Sunday, May 15, at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.
Debbie was born in Waterbury on July 25, 1948 daughter of the late Charles E. and Nancy (Griffin) O’Connor. Raised in Waterbury she attended local schools and was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School class of 1966, she received her BA degree from the College of Our Lady of the Elms in Chicopee, MA class of 1970 and received her Masters Degree in Gerontology from St. Joseph’s College in West Hartford. She went on to become licensed as a Nursing Home Administrator in Connecticut and Rhode Island. In 1999 she moved to Rhode Island and retired in 2010. She enjoyed clamming and collecting sea glass, but most especially, she enjoyed her time with the light of her life, her grandson Jordan.
She is survived by her daughter, Tara Puzacke of Waterbury; two brothers, Charles E. O’Connor of Arcadia, FL and Kevin J. O’Connor of Asheville, NC; one sister, Mary Anne McLean of Maple Grove, MN; her grandson, Jordan Connor Jefferson; nieces and nephews, Carrie, Jeff, Michael and David; 4 great nieces; 2 great nephews and cousins.
