Deanna Kaye Dwyer of Colorado Springs went to be with our Lord on January 18, 2017. Deanna was born in Waynoka, Oklahoma on January 13, 1953 to proud parents Howard and Mary Dwyer. The family moved to Colorado Springs in 1955 when Deanna was just two years old. She grew up in Colorado Springs, attending Edison Elementary, Horace Mann Junior and Wasson High Schools.
A true free spirit, Deanna traveled extensively after high school, and during her adventures met the love of her life and best friend, Jerry Bednorz. The two married and had a beautiful daughter named Lacey in 1982 in New Mexico. Deanna continued to travel and eventually made her way back to New Mexico, where another lovely daughter Whitney was born in 1991. In 1994 the family made its way back to Colorado Springs and Deanna and her girls have been here ever since.
Deanna was a true renaissance woman who could fix anything, sew anything, cook anything or build anything. She was very creative, and was a gifted problem solver.
She is preceded in death by her father Howard and two sisters Connie and Kathy. She is survived by her mother Mary, daughters Lacey and Whitney, grandsons Devon and Noah, granddaughter Letycia and many other family members and friends. She was loved by many, and we were blessed to have her in our lives. We are thankful that she suffers no more, and we will cherish her memory.
