Dean K. McIntyre, 93, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 29, 2022 at Hubbard Hill Healthcare.

Dean was born on September 26, 1928 to the late George and Nadine (Creviston) McIntyre in Mentone, IN. He married the love of his life, Patricia (Starr) McIntyre on June 24, 1955. He is preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Chet Miller and a niece.

Dean is survived by his wife of 67 years, Pat McIntyre; Son, Greg (Susan) McIntyre; sister, Joyce Miller, all of Elkhart; one nephew and two nieces.

Dean honorably served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. As an E7 Sergeant, First Class, he served from 1951 – 1952 as the Communications Chief of headquarters battery. Dean was presented with the Korean War Service Medal on November 11, 2002. After serving in the military, Dean was employed at Naquin’s Automotive for 31 years in the automotive parts department. Dean instilled old time values that hard work pays off.

Dean attended Northside Baptist Church participating in the Tuesday Bible Study.

He took great pride in keeping his lawn well-manicured. Dean enjoyed taking vacations with his family. In his spare time, Dean watched sports especially NASCAR, college basketball and football (even when Notre Dame was losing).

Dean had a wonderful sense of humor; always joking around. He was upbeat, looking for the good in every situation.
