Dean Hinman, 78, of Three Oaks, Michigan, died Monday afternoon, December 6, 2004, at Memorial Hospital of South Bend, Indiana.

Dean was born September 15, 1926, in Galien, Michigan to Lee and Lydia Mae (Fulton) Hinman. He served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. On June 26, 1948, Dean married Dolores Stanage at the Three Oaks United Methodist Church, they celebrated their 56th Wedding Anniversary this year. He was a member of Local #150 in South Bend, Indiana where he was a heavy equipment operator for 54 years. He was a member of the Roy Chilson Post # 344 American Legion in Galien and the Randall Couchman Post # 204 American Legion of Three Oaks. Dean was a wonderful grandfather who loved his grandchildren dearly.

Survivors include his wife, Dolores; children, Diane (Michael) Vecellio of Grass Lake, Michigan; Darrell (Sandy) Hinman of Three Oaks, Michigan; Douglas (Rhonda) Hinman of Three Oaks and Danny (Janet) Hinman of St. Augustine, Florida; grandchildren, Steven, Michelle, Beth, Jeffrey, Leanne, Nicholas, Adam, Joseph, Kristina, and Bradley; great-grandchildren, Cameron, Trevor, Kaylin, Jacob, Alyssa, Shyler and Tanner; his sister, Helen Chapman of Three Oaks; and brothers, Rex (Jean) Hinman of Galien; Raymond Hinman of Galien and Beryl (Myra) Hinman of Three Oaks.

He was preceded in death by his brother Glenn and his sister, Meryl Boltenhouse.
