Dean N. Fredrickson passed away at INOVA Fairfax Hospital on August 23, 2012 after a sudden cardiac ailment. Mr. Fredrickson was born on October 2, 1924 in Chicago. He served in the U.S. Air Force as a pilot and flight instructor during World War II. He then graduated from Northwestern Business School and pursued a career in sales and manufacturing first in Chicago and then as the executive sales manager of hot rolled sheets, electrical conduit, and cold finished bars for The Youngstown Sheet and Tube Company in Youngstown, Ohio. He later became a sales consultant selling pneumatic components used in automation. He and his wife, Donna, retired to Haymarket, Virginia in 2006 after raising their children and living in Poland, Ohio for over 40 years. Mr. Fredrickson was an avid golfer, enjoyed opera and astronomy, and served as a devoted husband to Donna. His thirst for knowledge inspired everyone around him. Survivors include his wife and three children, Dean R., David, and Debra.
