Dean Franklin Rolstad was born January 3, 1935 in Hanska, Minnesota to John and Juella Rolstad. He attended country school until high school found him in New Ulm, Minnesota. It was there that he met the love of his life, Shirley Dittrich. They married October 11, 1956, Shirley’s 18th birthday. The birth of three children, Gregory (Kyra) of Chewelah, Washington, Mitchell (Dee) of Thornton and Julie Branch (Ernest) of Falcon followed.

In 1963, the young family ventured west to Colorado and on the adventure of a lifetime. Dean’s first job in Colorado Springs was with Sinton Dairy as a milkman on the old west side. His gift as a people person became apparent at that time so the next step was on to selling real estate. Dean was involved with several companies including his own company throughout the next 27 years. He was old school with particular attention to detail. He made many friends along the way and cherished every one of them.

Dean loved to laugh at many things; the giggling of a child, the daily cartoons in the paper and of course at a good story. He loved to sing in the shower. He even liked the Broncos at times.

Dean passed peacefully on Sunday August 12th.

In addition to his three children, he is survived by 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; a brother, Nathanial of Michigan; a sister, Ronda of New Ulm, MN; along with best friends for over 50 years, Eric and Nancy Finstrom.

Pikes Peak Hospice has been a wonderful support and comfort in this time of sorrow. Any memorials may be sent to them at 2550 Tenderfoot Hill St. Colorado Springs, CO 80906.
