He was preceded in death by his mother, Ida Baker, father, Simon Watkins, Sr., wife, Virginia Cohn Watkins; sister, Mable Bolden and brother, Simon Watkins.
Mr. Watkins confessed faith in Jesus at an early age and was faithful until the end.
Mr. Watkins is survived by a loving and devoted daughter, Gloria Teresa (Michael) Jackson; granddaughters, Carmen (Mark) Whiteside, Talladega, AL, Virginia (Chris) Motton, Decatur, AL; grandsons, Dexter (Teresa) Wiggins Jr., Michael and Bandon Jackson, Trinity AL; great grandchildren, Jasmine Whiteside, Myah and Justin Motton, Desaray and Brittany Wiggins, and Tyra and Maliyah Jackson, a very special and devoted friend, Ms. Mattie Ward, a host of loyal family and friends who loved him dearly.
