Deacon Hosea Nathaniel Swain was born eighty three years ago, May 1, 1936, in Childersburg, Alabama to the parentage of the late Wiley N. Swain, Sr. and Beatrice Swain.
Deacon Hosea Swain confessed Christ at an early age and joined Enon Missionary Baptist Church, where he served until his health began failed. He faithfully served as a Deacon, usher and custodian over the years.
Deacon Swain served in the United States Army 3 years until he was Honorably Discharged on April 11, 1958. Deacon Swain retired from Kimberly-Clark with many years of service. He was a jack of many trades, who also had a passion for welding.
On November 7, 2019 Deacon Swain departed this walk of life to receive his crown in Glory at his residence in Childersburg, AL. He was preceded in death by his parents: Wiley N. Swain, Sr. and Beatrice Swain; his loving wife of over 60 years, Mattie M. Swain; two daughters, Pearlie M. Bardwell and Gaye Nell Black; one of his sister, Willie B. Swain; four brothers, Wiley N. Swain, Jr., Charles Lee, John Thomas (JT) Swain, and Robert Swain, Sr.
Deacon Swain leaves to cherish his loving memories; his son, Steven N. (Selma) Swain of Collierville, TN; grandchildren, Gaylon F. Black of Birmingham, AL; Revish Peoples and M. Yvonne Bardwell of Childersburg, AL; Steven A. Swain, Kristian M. Swain (Kelli) and Kaitlyn M. Swain (Madison) all of Collierville, TN.; four sisters, Bessie M. Capers of Selma, AL; Louise Swain and Annie Reaves, both of Childersburg, AL; Aronia (William) Funderburg of Montgomery, AL. Brother-in-laws: Melvin Hamilton (MS) and Howard (Doris) Keith both of Childersburg, AL. Sister-in-laws: Anne M. Brace of Montgomery, AL; Katie L. Lawson and Willie B. Quinn of Albany, NY. one son-in-law: Frank (Elaine) Black of Childersburg, AL; A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Special caregivers, Melvin Hamilton, Nina F.
