De’Tron Marqeise Burden, a native of the Salitpa community of Jackson and a resident of Valdosta, Ga., made his earthly transition Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2022. He was born May 19, 1997 to Tamarcus Burden and Sarah Davis Ridgeway.

At an early age, De’Tron accepted Christ and was baptized at the Springfield A.M.E. Zion Church. A graduate of Jackson High School in the Class of 2015, he continued his education at Tulsa Welding School in Jacksonville, Fla. De’Tron earned his diploma and became a professional welder in December of 2015. He was employed with D & D Fabrication in Valdosta, Ga.

De’Tron loved spending time with family and friends and attending the annual AWA Comic Cons celebrations in Atlanta, Ga.

Preceding him in death was his grandfather, John Lee Davis Sr.; great-grandmother, Carrie Montgomery Hayden; and beloved uncles, John Lee Davis Jr., Earnest “Sporty” Burden Jr. and Leroy Coats.

De’Tron leaves to cherish his memories his loving parents, father, Tamarcus Burden of LaGrange, Ga., and mother and stepfather, Sarah and Sawadi Ridgeway of Mobile; devoted grandparents, Rannie Davis of Jackson and Gwendolyn and Samuel Montgomery of Salitpa, who he lived with most of his life; step-great-grandfather, James Hayden of Carlton; two sisters, Nakahia Davis-Ridgeway of Mobile and Jada Burden of LaGrange, Ga.; an aunt, Dollie Davis of Jackson; two uncles, Kevin Montgomery of Birmingham, AL, and Keith Montgomery of San Diego, CA; with a host of other aunts, uncles, cousins, three dearly devoted, Kelvin Burden Jr., Imani Daffin and Kayden Burden; and friends, four devoted childhood friends, James Ezell, Tremayne McCaster, Darnell Washington and Brandon Lang. De’Tron also cherished his very special and dear friends of Valdosta, Mr. and Mrs. Slater West, Jaylin Campbell, Dwight Miller and Mike Zimmerman.
