DeAundra Shinya “Dee” “Wyne” Martin Taylor, a native of Whatley and resident of Grove Hill, was born the third child of Janice Morrissette Martin and Leonard Martin on July 29, 1986 in Grove Hill. On Saturday, Aug. 7, 2021, around 3:30 a.m., God and His heavenly angels whispered, “Sweet Child, Come Home to Rest.” “Dee” went home to be with God from Grove Hill Memorial Hospital, along with her sleeping son, Master Jacob Lee Taylor. Shinya left a legacy of love and will forever be affectionately remembered by her family and friends.
“Wyne,” as she was affectionately called by her dad, grew up in the Indian Ridge community surrounded by loving family. She was baptized and became a member of Indian Ridge Baptist Church under the leadership of the Rev. Johnny Lynum Sr. DeAundra was a proud member of the Clarke County High School graduating Class of 2004, where she was in the Royal Band of Blue as 1st chair clarinet and drum major. She further her education at Alabama Southern Community College and Colorado Tech, where she obtained both a Bachelor and Master Degree in Business Administration.
On June 16, 2017, DeAundra married the love of her life, Jarret, and together they established a wonderful family. She was a loyal and faithful wife, and an exceptionally devoted mother to her children.
She was preceded in death by many loved ones, especially her grandmother, Lula Morrissette Sewell; grandparents, Famous Martin and Mary Martin; great-grandparents, James Horne and Freda Horne, Ledger Morrissette and Essie Morrissette, and Annie Taite Mitchell; uncle, Ledell Martin; nephew, Antonio “T.J.” Davis Jr.; niece, Alexis Janae Davis; special friend, Warren Johnson; and special uncle, John Lee “Pistol” Franklin.
Cherishing her memories always will be her devoted, caring, loving, and supportive husband, Jarret D. Taylor of Grove Hill; her two precious children, “Prince” Jordan Lee Martin-Taylor and Little Miss Jayla Marie Taylor; caring and devoted parents, Leonard Martin and Janice Martin of Whatley; devoted sister, Tyronda (Minister Antonio Sr.) Davis of Haymarket, Va.; devoted brothers, Terris D.”Tech-9″ Martin of Whatley and Keith “Champ” Welch of Grove Hill; devoted mother-in-law, Valerie Taylor of Thomasville; father-in-law, Charles Jackson of Birmingham; grandmother-in-law, Laura Mae Taylor of Thomasville; devoted grandfather, Minister George Sewell of Lower Peach Tree; uncle, Gregory (Carmen) Martin of Hatzfeld, Germany; special uncle, Kenneth Lynum of Whatley; aunts, Perena (late Bobby) Sanders of Fairhope, Denise “Lil Lady” Martin of Whatley; special nieces, Ariana, Adrianna, Aniyah and Ashahi; other nieces, JaMiyah, Shanautica, Harmony and Tan’kyia; great niece, Jacee; special cousins raised as nieces and nephews, Cadeirda, Amarion “D.J.,” Braylee, Donte Jr. and her precious Kerron “K.C.,”; special first cousins, Julian, Johanna and Shannon; three brothers-in-law, Charles (Ashley) Taylor, Samuel Jackson and Orlando Jackson; sister-in-law, ShaCourtney Norwood. “Dee” had many, many, special cousins, special friends, and coworkers at International Paper Mill too numerous to name. She will be missed by all that knew her and loved her dearly.
