Dayton Agrey Goldfine Schroeter of Manchester, CT and Fort Washington, MD, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2020. Born in Kingston, Jamaica, on November 21, 1954 to Joyce and Edgar Schroeter. He attended Whitfield Town All Age Primary School and Excelsior High School. He migrated to the United States in 1974 and attended Hartford State Technical from 1974-1976, where he earned an Engineering Degree.
Dayton began his career working for Aetna’s Printing Department in 1976; and in 1977 gained employment with the State of Connecticut Department of Transportation, as a Civil Engineer where he retired after working for the State for 34 years.
Dayton leaves behind his wife Carol; son Mark (Atiyah); daughter Andrea; (Children’s mother Venus); stepdaughter Tanisha; stepson Jamel; mother Joyce Thompson; grandchildren Assata and Ava; three sisters Sybil, Grace, and Trudy; two brothers Paul and Michael; other relatives; personal and professional friends.
Dayton was dedicated to his family and close friends. He loved traveling, reading, going to the movies, playing and watching sports, going to the beach and had a niche for repairing and building. He had a passion for trucks; was very reliable and lived by a motto of “taking care of business when necessary.”
In July 2019, Dayton Dayton became a baptised member of the Breathe of Life Seventh Day Adventist Church, Fort Washington, Maryland.
