Dayna Kay Sherl, 65 of Indianapolis, Indiana, formerly of Centralia, passed away Friday, May 20, 2016 at Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana.She was born October 19, 1950 in Green Valley, Illinois, daughter of Charles Henry Howell and Frances Louella (Bree) Howell Sandy. She married William Sherl on May 16, 1985 and he survives in Centralia.

In addition to her husband of 31 years, she is also survived by four children: Jodi Lee of Indianapolis, Vanessa Simer-Turner and husband Damon of Austin, Texas, Angela Hornaday and husband Edward of Burlington, Iowa, and Michael Graziano of Tulsa, Oklahoma; 11 grandchildren: Nicole and Husband Brent, Damiun, William, Kayla, Sydni, Kayla, Cody, Alyssa, Daniel, Ava, and Jessica; three great-grandchildren: Haliegh, Arianna, and Lee ; three brothers and two sisters: Larry Howell and wife Mary of Mt. Vernon, Martin Howell and Mary of Centralia, Billy Howell and wife Dee Dee of Junction City, Michelle Gaines and husband Charles of Lafayette, Tennessee, and Debra Karch and husband Allen of Dwight, Illinois; several greatly loved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents: Harry and Ida Mae Howell, a sister: Ida Boch, and a special aunt, Peggy DeFieri.Dayna enjoying helping the homeless in Indianapolis, Indiana, she would donate food and other items. She was a collector of many things. She enjoyed animals. Dayna’s greatest enjoyment was her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family and friends.
