Dawne Marlene (Reasbeck) Green passed away peacefully on October 21, 2021 at the age of 86. She was born in Annapolis Maryland to Henry Bernard and Dorothy Bernice Reasbeck who desired a more interesting flare to the name Dawn, thus an “e” was entwined. She was christened Dawne, not Dwane as addressed by telemarketers throughout her life. As a Navy family, Dawne and her sisters Beverly and Kay moved often: California, Hawaii, Ohio and Pennsylvania. After high school, Dawne entered nurses training and received her RN in 1956, followed by her B.S. in 1976 and her M.A. in 1978 from the University of Colorado. Married to Richard M.
Dawne worked as a guidance counselor, a social worker and geriatric therapist through her long and meaningful career. Besides her profound ability to help others through their emotional toil, Dawne was a prolific reader, a premeditative traveler, a contemplator of all things not pragmatic or discernable, and a sensational quilter. Although starting the art of quilting later in life, it grew into a passion and she was unparalleled in her fabric mosaics, her perfect corners and her breathtaking artistic skill.
Dawne is survived by her loving husband Richard, children Joy Larson (Bruce), Chris Green, and Jennifer Flaherty (Kurt) and four grandchildren: Aidan Larson, Karina Larson, Shaylen Flaherty and Colin Flaherty. She is also survived by her loving sisters Beverly Duesenbury and Kay Patterson, nieces and nephews.
The meaning of life differs from man to man, from day to day, from hour to hour. What matters, therefore, is not the meaning of life in general but rather the specific meaning of a person’s life at a given moment.
