On Saturday, December 21, 2019, Dawn Norreen Reynolds, loving mother, sister, and beloved co-worker and community member, passed away peacefully at age 70. Dawn was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, and her brother, Ken. She is survived by her two sisters, Linda (Jeff) Bowen and Gail (Paul) Fairfield, and her only son, Devan. Dawn was born on May 30, 1949 in Perry, MI to Marva Jerome and Naomi Clark Roberts. She did not have an easy childhood; she grew up quickly and developed a maturity and responsibility beyond her years. She was always strong and independent, and she started working at a young age. Dawn married Robert “Bob” Whitney Reynolds on April 5, 1975. They both worked hard, always supported each other, and lived their best experiences with one another. They had a lot of fun and did everything together, from playing in a band (Dawn had a beautiful singing voice), to building houses from the foundation up, to adopting and raising their son. They were happily married for 34 years before Bob passed away December 22, 2009. Dawn was a dedicated, passionate, and incredibly loving mother. She dedicated her life to her son and never let him or anyone else around forget he was the most important thing in her world. They cherished every moment together and talked about everything. Dawn always wanted to be a mother, and while she only had one son, she was a motherly figure throughout her life to many different people. Dawn lived in Oak Ridge, TN, where she worked as a Unit Secretary at Methodist Medical Center for over 10 years before retiring, and then worked post-retirement as a store clerk at Kroger, a job she enjoyed because her co-workers and store regulars treated her like family. She was known best by her friends, family, and co-workers for her overwhelming kindness, no-nonsense attitude, a world class work ethic, her beautiful smile, and her heartwarming hugs. She most enjoyed doing things to make other people happy. Dawn was selfless, and the love and compassion she had for others was inspiring. She was the kind of amazing person you only meet once-in-a-lifetime and she will always be remembered and loved.
