Obituary of Dawn Delores Deisler
Dawn Delores Deisler passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 21, 2022, at Healthsource Saginaw where she lived for the last four years. She was born on January 9, 1930 to James & Gertrude Schultz Bodrie in Saginaw, Michigan.
Dawn attended St. Mary’s High school in Saginaw, Michigan. During this time, she found a passion for music. In addition to learning piano from the nuns, she also loved singing for weddings at St. Mary’s Cathedral.
Dawn started her career as a keyboard operator at GM for some years when she first started her family. After raising her family, she worked as a switchboard operator at Community Hospital, which is now known as Healthsource Saginaw.
Dawn was very active at her church, St Thomas Aquinas. She was a Eucharistic Minister and took communion to the sick and dying at Community Hospital. She also did volunteer work at abortion alternatives and enjoyed playing bingo with the patients at Community Hospital.
Dawn had a passion for arts & crafts making Christmas trees and anything else that required the use of a glue gun. She was also a good bowler, averaging 165. She will be remembered for cooking big dinners for her family during the Holidays. She also loved to go camping with her son, Scotty, in Oscoda and enjoyed Frosty’s from Wendy’s.
Dawn was predeceased by her sisters Valetta Allen, Betty Quinnan, son James Deisler and grandson Kevin Oppermann. She is also survived by her two daughters, Suzanne Hammis (David) and Deborah Oppermann (Scott), two sons, Joseph C. Deisler (Karen) and Scott Deisler, and seven grandchildren, Justin & Eric Hammis, Ryan & Cory Deisler, Jessica Madden, Michael Bostwick & Taylor Opperman, and several nieces and nephews. In addition, she is survived by three great-grandchildren.
Dawn was a loving Christian mother with the biggest heart and showed much love and compassion to so many people from all walks of life. Her legacy will live on and her life will be remembered by her family!
