David Zane Jones, 67, of Franklin, entered into rest on April 14, 2020 in Franklin.
David was born March 18, 1953 in Tampa, FL, a son of the late Ezekiel Jones and Betty (Ford) Tidler. On January 22, 2000, he married his loving wife, Carol Ann (Smith) Jones.
He graduated from Noblesville High School. He attended Pepperdine University in California and Blue Ridge Bible College in Virginia.
He was an ordained Pastor of the Reformed Baptist Faith. He was active in evangelism and ministry all over the world via internet as well as locally. He was Pastor of Mount Nebo Church in Martinsville IN at one time and was the founder of Heritage Reformed Baptist Church. He delivered his messages of God’s word to many area nursing homes for many years. He also taught and trained Price Ibrahim in Uganda Africa who is now the founder and Pastor of many new church plants in that country. Spreading the Gospel to as many people as possible was Dave’s calling and purpose.
David also spent 10 years in the Marine Corp and attained the status of Sergeant and Drill Instructor. He was also on Presidential Duty for President Nixon.
David loved watching sports and was an enthusiastic supporter of the Indiana Pacers, the Colts and the Chicago Cubs.
David loved his wife and his family and especially his grandchildren. He loved spending time with each and every one of them. He will be sadly missed by all.
David is survived by his loving wife, Carol Jones of Franklin; five children, Jason Jones, Scott Jones, Kelly Jones-Ganir, Nick Jones and Steven Jones; two step-children, Michelle Summitt and Ken Yarnell; two sisters, Peggy Board and Cindy Jones; one brother, Alan Jones; 14 grandchildren, Diego, Gabriella, Isabella and Ezekiel Ganir; Catalina, Cassandra and Shelby Jones; Dylan Heaton, Tristan Summitt; Casey, Samantha, Nick and Levi Yarnell, and Lexi Walker; one great-grandchild, Xoee Heaton and many nieces and nephews.
