David Wolfe, 79 of Trussville passed away on January 27, 2011. David was a graduate of Jacksonville State University and retired from Southern Natural Gas Company where he was employed as a Corporate Tax Accountant. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Trussville. He began playing softball and baseball in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area and continued playing baseball traveling throughout Germany while a member of the U.S. Army. He began umpiring Fast and Slow Pitch in 1970 and continued until 2007. He was a registered ASA umpire for over 30 years and a member of the Birmingham Football Association for over 50 years. In 2010, David was inducted into the Central Alabama Amateur Softball Association Hall of Fame. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Jacqueline Wolfe; their children, Beth Wolfe and Lauri Funderburk (Steve); granddaughter, Danielle Hernandez (Raphael); grandson, Bradley Funderburk; great granddaughters, Bailey and Ruby.
