Salem David Williams Fisher, 59, of Liberty Street in Salem died Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at Monongalea General Hospital following an extended illness. He was born in Clarksburg, WV on June 29, 1951, the son of the late Kyle Arthur Fisher and Hazel Williams Fisher. He is survived by his wife of thirty-four years, Ruby Davis Fisher, a daughter Erin Lane, her husband, Harley, and their son, Brody. He graduated from Salem High School and Salem College, attended graduate school at Marshall University, and was employed at MSES Consultants in Clarksburg as an aquatic biologist. Mr. Fisher served on Salem City Council from July 1988-June 1997 and from July 2007 to the present time. He was a member of Salem Baptist Church, served on the board for United Way, was a member of the Salem Riffle and Pistol Club, Lumberport Riffle and Pistol Club, State Riffle Association, National Riffle Association and was an instructor there as well as for the Harrison County Hunter Education Association and concealed weapons classes. Dave was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed hunting, spending time with his family, especially grandson, Brody.
