David William Kempken
David William Kempken of Greensboro, GA died on Friday, September 7, 2018 at the age of 72. Born on October 14, 1945 in Burlington, WI, he was the husband of Judith Mary Kempken, née Benshoof, and son of the late Lawrence Henry Kempken and Marcella Prasch Kempken. Dave and Judi were married on December 6, 1969. He graduated from Wilmot High School in Wisconsin in 1963, and received a Bachelor’s Degree from St. Procopius College in 1967. He was a fellow of the Society of Actuaries, an enrolled actuary and a member of the Academy of Actuaries. He served his country in the United States Army and received an honorable discharge on September 12, 1969. He retired in 2000 from the Chrysler Corporation, where he worked in human resources. He also worked for Bankers Life, A.S. Hansen, Inc., Bethlehem Steel and Mercer-Meidinger during his career. In 2002, Dave and Judi moved from Bloomfield Hills, MI to Greensboro, GA, where he enjoyed his retirement playing golf.
He is preceded in death by his sister Irene Dohse (Al). Survivors include his wife of forty-eight years, Judi Kempken of Greensboro, GA; his children, Jeremy Kempken (Jennifer) of Waterford, MI, Candace Novell (Matthew) of Irvine, CA, John Kempken (Christina) of Ypsilanti, MI and Margret Kempken of Marietta, GA; siblings, Carol Henry (Tom), Grace Becker (Bill) and Bruce Kempken (Mary Kay); grandchildren, Alexander and Noah Kempken; Lauren, Daniel and Morgan Novell; Tyler and Hayden Jones; and many other relatives and friends, as well as his beloved golf clubs.
