David William Bray, born February 19, 1923, a resident of the Twin Lakes Community, died Monday, January 16, 2017, at Alamance Regional Medical Center in Burlington.

Mr. Bray was a native of Altoona, PA and the husband of the late Regina Kells Bray. He was the son of the late Roy Terrance Bray and the late Lorene Diehl Bray.

Mr. Bray was a veteran of the US Army, serving as a Sargent during World War II. He retired as a general manager with Swift and Company. After his retirement, he was instrumental in the design and construction of the largest turkey facility in North Carolina, Carolina Turkeys.

Mr. Bray was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Burlington and the Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of the Rotary Club in Wallace, NC.

Dad’s passion was his family. Traveling, singing and playing golf were some of his favorite activities. Dad never met a stranger and was always generous to those in need.

Mr. Bray is survived by two daughters, Donna Peachy (Richard) of Wisconsin and Elizabeth Dahlquist (Paul) of Illinois; five sons, Gregory Bray (Kathy) of Alabama, Joseph Bray (Rita) of Texas, Jeffrey Bray (Elise) of Burlington, Timothy Bray (Thelma) of Illinois and Matthew Bray (Dee) of North Carolina; one brother, Robert Bray (Barbara) of Colorado; a brother-in-law, Ken Farabaugh of Pennsylvania and a sister-in-law, June Johnston, twenty grandchildren, Nathan, Jay, Melissa, Melinda, Rachel, Ryan, Aaron, Jennifer, Kathryn, David, Jared, Andy, Julie, Leanne, Melisa, Beth Amy, Renee, Luke, Amber and Ariel; twenty-four great-grandchildren, Nikolas, Evan, Madison, Carter, Isaac, Hope, Michael, Wayne, Andrea, Meredith, Sawyer, Owen, Maddie, Logan, Alan, Calvin, Aliza, Oliver, Andrea, Isiah, Gabbie, Sahalie, Leah and Elena.

In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Bray was preceded in death by a grandson, Alan Jeffrey Bray and two sisters, Rose Ann Farabaugh and Marie Farrell.
