David Wayne Edwards II, known as Wayne, finished this life”s journey on Tuesday, June 26, 2012 Wayne was born in Newark, NJ on October 16, 1960 to David and Joan Edwards. He lived in West Virginia, California, Oklahoma, Virginia, and Florida before settling in Indiana. When he wasn”t playing baseball, skiing, boxing, golfing or practicing his bass, he opened his own software consulting business. Of all his accomplishments serving as the president of the Indianapolis Adult Baseball League was one that made him the most proud. During his baseball career Wayne was awarded the 2002 and 2006 Cy Young Award. He was a competitor by nature and his passion was being involved in the game. Besides his mom and dad he is survived by his beloved wife of 27 years, Jeri Lee and their two dogs (Jake and Elwood); his sisters and brother, Carol (Howie) Scalzo, Victoria (David) Mann, and Joseph (Jessica) Edwards as well as various in-laws, out-laws, nieces and nephews. He was a man of faith and ended this life with his hope firmly placed in the saving grace of Jesus Christ.
