David W. McNary, 65, passed away, and went Home, Friday, November 9, 2012, at his residence in Hagerstown. He was born July 3, 1947, in Muncie, the son of Merrill B. and Helen (Griffin) McNary. He attended Muncie schools, graduated from Muncie Central High School in 1965, attended Purdue University and graduated from Ball State University, in 1969.
Dave served in Okinawa with the U. S. Army.
He worked at Ball Stores, Muncie Water Works and from 1969 until his retirement in 2007 for the American Water Works. While with American Water Works he had worked in Richmond, Bellville, Illinois, and Greenwood.
David was an Eagle Scout.
Surviving are his wife and soulmate, Lana “Jo” (Seitz) McNary, to whom he would have been married forty-four years the 29th of this month; his children, David Andrew “Andy” McNary, (wife, Jessica), Alexandria, Trisha Renee Maurer, (husband, Richard), Muncie, and Dustin Michael McNary, (wife, Sarah), Indianpolis; his beloved dog, Murphy; five grandchildren, Nathaniel Maurer, Cameron Maurer, Breanna Bean, Alexis Bean and Taylor O’Rear; his sister, Merrillyn Sue McNary, Muncie; his brother, Jerry Lee McNary, (wife, Donna), Albany; his mother-in-law, Barbara Seitz, Parker City; his sister-in-law, Sharon Six, (husband, Kenny); several nieces and nephews; and others that called him “Dad.”.
