David W. Hoffman, 91, long time resident of Owosso Passed away November 29,2017 of Natural Causes. “Dave” as his friends knew him, was a retired Sales Representative of Michigan School Service, he was a devoted family man and avid sportsman. Dave was a WWII Navy veteran and worked as an Ordnance Mechanic on U S Navy ships. In his retirement years, Dave, was a nationally recognized Gunsmith, and avid gun collector. Born in 1926 in Hancock ,Michigan, Dave was a graduate of Stout University and Taught Industrial Arts in Hancock Michigan and still remained in contact with several of his students. Dave also enjoyed woodworking and building things in his home workshop. Dave was always there for his friends and neighbors to lend a helping hand whenever needed. Dave was a Cornet player and played with a local band called The Notables and often Played in the City Club of Owosso in the 60’s and 70’s.Dave was married to his wife Eva for over fifty years and they raised 4 children was preceded in passing by his wife Eva Hoffman, son Thomas Hoffman and Grandson Matthew Sanford. Dave is survived by his daughter Linda Holloway, daughter Kathy Hoffman , son Michael Hoffman and Grandson Nicholas Sanford. He is also survived by several Great Grandchildren and Great Great Granddaughters
