David W. Hayden of Hanson and formerly of Hingham, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on January 25, 2021. He was the beloved father of Rhonda Boyce and her husband David of Hanson and Kimberly McDonald of Onset. He was the loving grandfather of Caitlyn and Courtney Cribben and Mikayla and Bailey McDonald. He was predeceased by Joanne (Allen) DiCinque, his high school sweetheart to whom he was married for twenty years and together had their two beautiful daughters. He was the husband of the late Lois Hayden; brother of the late Priscilla Howe. He also leaves many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. David was born on December 12, 1946 in Weymouth to Wendell and Viola (Hersey) Hayden. He grew up in Hingham and graduated from Hingham High School. He was a Factory Supervisor for CV Rubin Leather for many years and then Foot Joy Shoes until his retirement. David was a free spirit who loved the earth and nature. He owned a small White Dove Release business, where he raised and trained doves to be released at special occasions and events, creating special memories for his customers. One of David’s favorite hobbies was being a Beekeeper. He belonged to the Plymouth County Beekeepers Association and participated in the Marshfield Fair, where members competed, demonstrated and educated the general public about the nature of the honey bee. He loved spending his earlier years with his family at Old Orchard Beach in Maine. David’s craftsmanship skills led him to build two homes; one in Hingham that he resided in for many years and his most recent home in Hanson that he proudly named “Paradise Farm”. He was happiest when he was in his garden, tending his bees, goats and chickens or spending time with his family. He will be remembered for his friendly smile, easy going and caring nature.
