David Vincent Porras, 35, beloved father, son and brother passed away July 5th, 2023 in Alamogordo, NM. David was born on March 23, 1988 to Tony Robert Porras and Elizabeth Ann Porras in Alamogordo, NM.
David grew up in Alamogordo for most of his life, coming from a very large extended family and with numerous cousins and many friends; David loved playing sports, everything from T-ball to football, baseball and soccer. Our beloved son for most of his young life revolved around his family, his cousins, which are many and his Lucky street friends. David was baptized and received Holy Communion through the Catholic Church. His heart was always in God’s vision, David believing in the almighty, maker of all things seen and unseen.
David adored and loved his Kacie and kids like no other. They were everything to him. All that he did was towards a better life for them. His kids, Elijah, Lillianna, Olivia, Josiah, and Nevaeh were his world.
A hard worker, for sure, David in his employment endeavors always put a strong effort and loved his fellow coworkers, whom he considered family. He would brag about them constantly. His employment took him from construction to fast food management. David a shade tree mechanic, “grease monkey” he was the Mr. fix-it of our family and second only to his Dad, on the grill.
David is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Abraham Porras and Pilar Pantoja; maternal grandparents, David and Helen Lueras; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Tony and Elizabeth Porras; brother, Anthony; sisters, Selena Porras and Bella Porras (Aden); David’s beautiful children: Elijah, Lillianna, Olivia, Josiah, Nevaeh; and his partner of 10 years, Kacie Lynn Smith. He is also survived by aunt Socorro Dominguez of CA; uncle Felix Pantoja of NM; Martin and Lisa Pantoja of Tenn; Lupe and Mike Sanchez; uncle Greg of Alamogordo; Abraham Porras of AZ; Kenneth and Mary Lou Woods of Alamogordo, NM; Mark and Josie Freeman of Maryland; Rudy and Anna Lueras; and Chris of Alamogordo, NM; and a host of many cousins and friends.
