Mr. David Smith, Jr. “June Bug” was born November 4, 1949 in Sylacauga, Alabama. To the parentage of the late David Smith, Sr. and Ms. Ethel Lee Thomas Smith.
He departed this life on January 28, 2018 at Sylacauga Health and Rehab, Sylacauga, AL. He was preceded in death by his father, David Smith, Sr.; and his siblings, Barbara Duffey, Billy Smith and Frances Garrett.
Mr. Smith joined Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church, where he remained a faithful member. His passion was playing the harmonica and singing in the choir. He was known in his community for his kind heart and generous spirit.
He leaves to cherish his memories a loving devoted mother, Ethel L. Smith of Sylacauga, AL; one son, Travis L. (Angela) Smith of Vincent, AL; three grandsons, Tavius Smith, Treston Smith, and Tanner Smith; two sisters, Cathy Smith and Connie Embry both of Sylacauga, AL; three brothers, Michael Smith of Atlanta, GA; Leon Smith and Ronnie (Dinese) Smith both of Sylacauga, AL; and a host of in laws, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
