A loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and uncle. David S. Hamilton passed away on July 4, 2021, peacefully at his home in Kalamazoo, MI.
He was born in Welchburg, Ky, on December 17, 1930, the son of William B. Hamilton and Lillie H. (Poynter) Hamilton.
David’s career consisted of driving a gravel truck in the hills of KY, mill worker at Allied Paper and a retired journeyman electrician at General Motors. He loved his family, music, playing cards, camping at Muskrat Lake, hard work, dancing and a good laugh.
On February 22, 1951, he married Thelma (Gabbard) Hamilton.
David is survived by his wife; two daughters, Yvonne (Stephen) Rietkerk and Karen (Brian) Belanger; five grandchildren, Shelley (Shawn) Hill, David (Shelley) Sitar, Stacey (Sean) Shelby, Thomas (Tyler) Blevins, Bradley (Jessica) Blevins; seven great-grandchildren, Lauren Hill, Dawson, Emma Grace, Ella Jay Blevins, Annabelle, Gabriella, Bryson Blevins; three surviving siblings, Doyle (Lillian) Hamilton, Margaret Suhr, Ronnie Hamilton; and many nieces and nephews.
