David Shumaker passed away Tuesday, September 23, 2008, at his home. He was born in LaPorte, IN July 4, 1945, the son of Lola (Cook) Shumaker and the late Don Shumaker. Dave graduated with the class of 1963 from Rensselaer High School and received his Associates degree from Ft. Wayne Business College.
On July 16, 1966, in Rensselaer he married Jill Laird who survives. Dave was a banker for 30 years, retiring in 2006. He had worked in Rensselaer at the former State Bank of Rensselaer. Dave was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church and the Prairie Lodge No. 125 F. & AM of Rensselaer. Dave was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
