David Scott Rayl, 57, of Bringhurst, passed away on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at Franciscan Health East in Lafayette.
He was born January 19, 1964, in Tipton. After graduating from high school, Scott served in the Navy before being honorably discharged, then drove over the road for 9 years before having children.
Scott had worked as a mechanical technician for Voestalpine Elm Steel Inc. in Lafayette.
He was a member of The American Legion and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren and riding in the Annual Autism charity ride every year.
Surviving are his children, Justin (wife Alyson) Rayl of Middlebury and Samantha (husband Nickolaus) McKenzie of Gaithersburg, MD, his mother, Phyllis E. Sparks of Dade City, FL, father, David K. Rayl of Kempton, sister, Lynda Campbell of White House, TN, brothers, Steven (wife Gale) Rayl of Pickard, Jason Rayl of Murfreesboro, TN, Kevin (wife Denise) Sparks of Spring Hill, FL, Brad (wife Vanessa) Sparks of Lebanon, and Shane Cooper of Noblesville. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Aubree and Noah McKenzie.
Scott was preceded in death by his step-father, Ronald Sparks.
