David Samuel FitzGerald Norwich – David Samuel FitzGerald, 69, of Norwich passed away peacefully at WW Backus Hospital, after a brief battle with cancer. His loving family was with him. He was born on June 1, 1943, in Norwich, the son of John and Susanna (Hargreaves) FitzGerald. His parents predeceased him. David was a graduate of NFA, Class of 1961, He honorably served in Okinawa as a Marine from 1965-1967. He was a member of Pipefitter’s Local 777 until his retirement. David was enthusiastic about NASCAR, the Yankees, and the NY Giants. His avid interest in current events sparked many conversations. His family and many friends enjoyed the bounty from his garden, which was used to prepare traditional Italian meals. Experiences on three cross-country trips were highlights of his retirement years. David is survived by his wife, Pasqualina (Pat) Ferrara, whom he married on August 23, 1975; his two sons, John, his wife Chloe, and their daughter Kadian and his son Brendon and his daughter, Lillian; his brother, John (Mary Carroll); his sisters, Patricia (Charles) Kelly and Susan(the late Henry) Congdon; his brother-in-law, Vincent (Karen) Ferrara; his two sisters-in-law, Ann Marie Ferrara and Angela (Todd) Erb; his nephews, Thomas and Paul FitzGerald, Daniel Kelly; his nieces, Karen FitzGerald-Hoddick, Kerry Congdon DeMott, Kathleen Congdon, Amanda Kelly, Hannah and Madisyn Erb and Ashley Ferrara.
