David S. Thomas, 81, of 22 Ridge Street, died Wednesday, August 25, 2010, at his home following a lengthy illness.
Dave retired from Textron in 1992 after 35 years, was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War, a past President for 11 years of U.A.W. #787 and a member of V.F.W. Post #844. He graduated in 1948 from Elkland Township Vocational School, bowled for the Shamrock team with his lifelong friends, Ray Barbour, Bob Wagner and John Sharar and in the Avco Lycoming League and enjoyed hunting, the outdoors, playing cards and trips in the car.
Dave will be most remembered for his big smile, wit and sense of humor and for always being willing to help others.
Born June 12, 1929 in Estella, he was the son of Raymond and Mildred E. Everitt Thomas.
Surviving are a son, David S. (Wendy) Thomas Jr. of Allenwood; daughters, Terry L. (Kevin) Tobey of Groton, Conn. and Connie (Ryan Ross) Thomas of Lakeville, Ind.; a brother, Ronald E. of Forksville; sisters, Nancy Bird of Kemp, Tx and Barbara Eldredge of Forksville and six grandchildren.
Dave was predeceased by his wife, the former Angeline O. Greninger, September 24, 2009 and a son, Raymond C. Thomas, February 12, 1995.
