David S. Salgado, age 78, a lifelong resident of Plymouth, passed away on Sunday, October 10th, at the BID Hospital in Plymouth. He was the devoted husband of Gloria J. (Morey) Salgado. Father of Laureen Sloman of Billerica. Step father of Stephanie Henderson of Taunton, Timothy Cobb of Plymouth, and Jennifer Fisher of Plymouth. Brother of Janice Reilly and her husband Robert of Plymouth, Diane Furtado and her husband William of Plymouth, and the late James Salgado, and Steven Salgado. David is also survived by 3 grandchildren, 10 step grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. David was born in Plymouth on June 24, 1943, son of the late Manuel and Leopoldina (Pacheco) Salgado. He attended the Plymouth School System, and made his career as a foreman for the Town of Plymouth Water Department. David was a jack of all trades. He could work on plumbing, electrical, and even built his own house. He was a self-taught musician and sang in a three piece band. His main passion was antique cars. David owned, and worked on, many of his own classic cars. He was a member of the Lancer’s Car Club, the Studebaker Drivers Club, and past President of the Garibaldi Club. David was always there to lend a hand, and would help anyone with anything.
