Salem- David R. Whitehouse, 88, died at 12:30 p.m. Saturday April 15, 2017 at the Salem Regional Medical Center. David had lived in Columbiana the last 2 years, and was formerly of 10314 Youngstown- Salem Road, Salem He was born November 22, 1928 in Rochester, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Roy and Ruth Whitehouse.

David attended school in Freedom, Pennsylvania. David was a U.S. Army veteran of the World War II. He was employed as an Electrician at the Crucible Steel Mill in Midland, Pennsylvania, and retired in 1998 as an Electrician at General Motors in Lordstown with 20 years of service.

David was Protestant by faith. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge F. & A. M. He was a wonderful father and husband. He was a farmer, who loved to raise cows and chickens. He enjoyed hunting, trapping, golf and fishing. After retirement he and his wife enjoyed traveling and spending winters in Florida.

His wife, Dollie J. McDade whom he married June 7, 1957, they were together for 51 years together, preceded him in death on January 23, 2010. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Richard Whitehouse.

He is survived by three sons, David S. Whitehouse of Berlin Center, James E. Whitehouse of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and Douglas M. Whitehouse of Berlin Center; one sister, Ruthie Pofg of Freedon, Pennsylvania.
