Hampden-David R. Sutcliffe, 80, passed away at home Sunday, January 2, 2022. Dave was born in Monson and was a graduate of Springfield Trade School. He served in the US Air Force, where he built lifelong friendships with the “Elite 5”. Dave was a truck driver by trade and worked for Blanchard Septic, Turnberg Construction and Hampden Nurseries. For over 30 years he was a volunteer at the Hampden Fire Department.
Dave leaves his loving wife Betty J. (Edwards) Sutcliffe; sister, Thelma Learned; a daughter, Amy Bliss and her husband Walter; a son, Scott Sutcliffe; four grandchildren, Sarah, Angela, Elizabeth, and Samantha, a great grandson and great granddaughter and lifelong friend Larry Hatch. David was predeceased by a son, Tod Sutcliffe.
