David R. Stringer, the son of Mark R. and Margaret (Price) Stringer, was born May 5, 1944, at Wayne, Nebraska. He departed this life on Tuesday, August 23, 2022, at the Mary Lanning Hospital in Hastings, Nebraska at the age of 78 years, 3 months and 18 days.

Dave received his formal education attending the Wayne community schools and graduated with the class of 1963.  A veteran of the United States Army, he serviced his country from 1964 until his discharge in 1968.  Dave was employed with Duncan Aviation in Lincoln, Nebraska as an airplane mechanic and service technician. on August 3, 1968, he was united in marriage with Verlene Burwell.  In 1975, they moved to Inavale, Nebraska where Dave continued to work as an airplane mechanic for Larry Boardman and later Jim Butler at the Superior Airport.  He was also employed by Marvin Nelson on their farm in Smith County, Kansas.  In later years Dave continued his work independently as an airplane mechanic and several area airports.

In his leisure time he enjoyed music and playing his violin. He loved wood working, carving and working in his garden.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Verlene, on November 22, 2009, and a sister, Marlynn McDonald.

Surviving are his son, Darin Stringer and partner, Dennis Peters, of Alexandria, Virginia; a brother, Mark T. Stringer and wife, Barbara; other relatives and many friends.
