He was born September 3, 1954 in Mt. Vernon, the son of Sydney Earl Porter and Esther Mae (Sheridan) Porter. David married Tina Thackrey on April 26,1989 and she survives in Mt. Vernon.
In addition to his wife of 32 years, Tina Porter of Mt. Vernon, he is also survived by a daughter: April Sendelbach and friend Brent Pfeiffer of Pekin, IL, a daughter: Cassie Porter of Mt. Vernon, a son: Colton Porter of Mt Vernon, and grandchildren: Makayla, Andon, and Adalynn Sendelbach.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Kevin, his sister Susie, his nephew Matt, and his niece Natalie.
David worked at World Color Press and Continental Tire before retiring. He enjoyed genealogy, Cardinals baseball games, and was a huge fan of music (specifically Sirius XM’s radio stations: Lithium and Alt Nation). He will be remembered as a loving and irreplaceable husband and father.
