Mr. Marmon died Sunday, July 19, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Marmon was born November 19, 1947 in Kansas City, Kansas, the son of William and Virginia (Rickart) Marmon. He enlisted in the US Army in 1966 and served for more than 22 years attaining the rank of E7, Sergeant 1st Class.  He was a Vietnam Veteran, retiring in 1989. He married Pamela Robinson, March 1,1968 in Durham, North Carolina. They made their home in Belton from 1973 till 1991 when they moved to Ft. Collins, Colorado until 2009. While in Colorado David worked at Sears and Montgomery Wards where he was one of the top 50 salesmen in service contracts in the country for three years in a row.

In 2009 they returned to Belton. He was a longtime member of Keys Valley Baptist Church where he was active in the Youth Ministry and served as the RA director for several years. He also sang in the choir, ran the van ministry and worked as the grounds keeper. Known as Mr. David to the youth, they called him the candy man because he would bring the children candy treats on Sundays.

He was preceded in death by his parents William and Virginia Marmon.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Pamela Marmon; one daughter Sherry Millican and husband Si of San Antonio; two brothers Stephen Marmon and wife Delores of Beatrice, Nebraska and Kevin Marmon and wife Kim of Wymore, Nebraska; one sister Beverly French of Lincoln, Nebraska; two grandchildren Miles Millican and Alison Millican both of San Antonio and numerous nieces and nephews.
