David Rocke DuBret, 61, of Milford, and formerly of Fairfield, passed away peacefully in his home on Thursday, January 15, 2015. He was born in Bridgeport, CT on March 21, 1953 to Henry and Patricia DuBret of Fairfield. David graduated from Fairfield Preparatory High School in 1971, and went on to obtain a degree in Criminal Justice at the University of New Haven. David served the community of Fairfield as a Police Officer from 1976, and retired as a Sergeant I 2001. After David retired, he pursued a career as a Realtor, and was currently employed by William Raveis in Milford.
David is survived by his wife Karen (Henriques) DuBret, and his two children, Ryan and Jessica of Milford, sisters Susan DuBret Strong and her husband John of Bridgeport and Tracy DuBret Canale of Milford, brother Patrick DuBret of Fairfield, nephews John Strong III and Bret Strong of Bridgeport and nieces Erin Strong of Bridgeport and Kayla Canale of Milford. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and special neighbors and friends. David is also survived by Karen’s special aunt, Terri Roma of Bridgeport. He is pre-deceased by his dear mother-in-law, Patricia Barber Henriques and his brother-in-law Richard Canale.
David enjoyed being with his two children and thought the world of them. He loved to participate in his children’s extracurricular activities and was proud to see their accomplishments throughout their school years. He loved helping Ryan pursue his career in law enforcement, and enjoyed Jessica’s dance recitals as well as those times spent singing and laughing with her.
