WESTFIELD – David Philip Szenkum, 52, passed away with his devoted family at his side on Friday, January 21, 2022.

David was born on September 8, 1969, in Springfield, MA to Philip J. Szenkum and Irmgard “Oma” (Wilfer) Szenkum.

David graduated from Springfield Vocational Class of 1987.

David and his family are members of St.

David was loved by all who knew him and will be remembered for his loving kind heart.  David loved to vacation on warm sunny beaches with his family, he was often at his happiest soaking up the rays of sun.  He was an avid Elvis fan and loved all animals. 

David’s greatest enjoyment was taking care of his son David.  The family enjoyed their time attending the Special Olympics, their many boating and fishing trips, family vacations, and their time going out to share meals.

David worked as a machinist at B&E Tool, Tell Tool, Hoppe Tool, and DFF for many years.

Daivd is predeceased by his mother Irmgard “Oma” Szenkum.

Survivors include his wife Deborah A. Szenkum (Starsiak) of Westfield, MA, his son David M. Szenkum of Westfield, MA, his father Philip Szenkum of Largo, FL, 2 sisters Manuela Caresta and her husband Mike of CT, and Heidi Szenkum of CT, his goddaughter and niece Aliviya Starsiak of Westfield, MA, additional nieces include: Shelby Starsiak of Westfield, MA, Sophia Caresta of CT, Gianna Caresta of CT, Haley Phillips of Westfield, MA, and Kaitlyn Phillips of Westfield, MA; his mother and father-in-law Mitch and Carol Starsiak of Westfield, MA, his brother-in-law Dan Starsiak and his wife Kim of Westfield, MA, his sister-in-law Denise Phillips of Westfield, MA, his extended family in Germany, along with other family members and friends.
