David  “Pee-Wee” Taylor, a native and resident of the Choctaw Bluff community of Jackson, made his earthly transition on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at his home. He was born on Sept. 11, 1947 to the late Charlie Taylor Sr. and Lelar Stephens Taylor. David was a devoted member of St. James AME Church in Choctaw Bluff. He retired from Boise Paper Mill after 33 years of hard work and dedication. A very skilled carpenter, he displayed his talent by helping throughout the community in numerous ways. David was an amazing provider, husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.

Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Luretta Rocker Taylor; son, Broderick “Brock” Taylor; sister, Vernell Taylor; brother, Robert Taylor; brother-in-law, Freddie Adams; and sister-in-law, Winnie Ann Taylor.  

His life will be forever cherished in the lives of his children, David Demetrius Taylor of Jackson and Tiffany Taylor of Atlanta, Ga.; 15 grandchildren, Kylyn Taylor, Tamnique “Tam” Taylor, Rhandi “Mook” James, Jekya “Pink” Jackson, Justice “Kitty Kat” Williams, Nia “Skeety Taylor, Imari “Holly” Taylor, Diamyn Henley, Demond “DJ” Henley, Kionna Sloan, Keandria “Lu” Sloan, Davion Taylor, Alivia “Ma” Taylor, Austin, NeTanya Gibby; two great-grandsons, Koda Broderick Ray and Chosen James; five sisters, Shirley (Blanche) Jones of Mobile, Lillie Adams of Jackson, Melissa Taylor and Lorean (Jerdon) Washington, all of Choctaw Bluff , and Sandra (Earl) Moore of Savanah, Ga.; three brothers, Charlie Taylor Jr. of Choctaw Bluff , Earnest Taylor of Detroit, Mich., and Sidney Taylor of Montgomery; three sisters-in-law, Mattie Pearl Taylor, Shirley (Frank) Richardson and Annie J. Rocker, all of Choctaw Bluff; two brothers-in-law, J.C. (Claudia) Rocker and Chester Rocker, both of Choctaw Bluff; with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friend
