David P. “Lump” Sanders, 67, of Bethlehem, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 6, 2016, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Fountain Hill. He was the loving husband of Julie P. (Schessler) Sanders for 23 years. Born in Fountain Hill, he was the son of the late Walter and Marion (Colbert) Sanders.

Lump graduated from HB Plant High School in Tampa, FL. He worked for the former Everson Electric Co. as a supervisor for many years. He also was the owner/operator of Lump’s Deli in Bethlehem for the past 30 years. Lump was an avid conversationalist and belonged to the Table of Knowledge, where the usual suspects would meet over coffee and discuss all things political. He loved street rods and was a former member of Wheels of Time. He was also a member of the Goodfellows and the Heights A.A. Lump was on the Northampton County Appeals Board and also volunteered as a crossing guard at his Deli on the corner of Center and Geopp Streets.

He will be lovingly remembered by his many family members, friends and loved ones. Survivors: In addition to his loving wife, Julie, sons David Sanders and wife Lynn of El Cajon, CA, Rusty Sanders and wife Tess of Bethlehem, Larry Wentz, III and wife Meagen of Rockwall, IA; daughters Candy Stoll and husband Dennis of Bethlehem, Julianne Cloutier and husband Jason of El Paso, TX; brother Donald Sanders and wife Tammy of Juno Beach, FL; grandchildren Nicole Brown, Dylan Brown, Dakota Brown, Kaitlyn Sanders, Kira Sanders, Owen Jessup, Addison Wentz, Alexa Wentz, Aubrey Wentz, Lucas Cloutier, Madison Cloutier; great grandson Leo Garcia. He was predeceased by his sisters Linda and Sandra.
