David Odle, Sr., age 64, of Rensselaer passed away at his home Tuesday, May 18, 2010. He was born July 29, 1945, in Rensselaer, the son of the late Daniel and Fanny (Lilly) Odle.
David was raised in the Demotte area and was a 1963 graduate of Demotte High School. He served in the U.S. Army, receiving the VietNam Service and Campaign medals. He was a member of the Demotte American Legion and the Rensselaer VFW. For 30 years. David was an over-the-road truck driver with the Quality Carrier Company of Gary. His marriage was in Lowell, Indiana on January 30, 1970, to Frances
Adams who survives. He is also survived by four children, Laura (Paul) Ek, Hebron; David (Julie) Odle Jr., Wheatfield, Cindy (Thomas) Kubley, Goodland and Megan Odle, Chicago, IL; seven grandchildren; one brother, Terry (Jeanette) Odle, Demotte, sister-in-law, Betty Odle, Demotte and brother-in-law, Terry Smith, Munster, IN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and one sister.
