David Murdock of Anderson, passed on to eternal life peacefully surrounded by family and friends following a courageous battle with cancer on November 27, 2013 at his residence in Anderson, IN. He was born in Anderson on October 17, 1945, and resided all of his life in Anderson.
David graduated from Anderson High School in 1963. He is a retired Fireman from the City of Anderson where he served as firefighter, captain and EMT. He was a member of the Firefighter Union IAFF local 1262, and Indiana Firefighters Association, Masonic Lodge Madison #44 F. & A. M., Pendleton, Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis, and the Shrine Club, he enjoyed going to car shows around the area, especially the James Dean Festival, he also enjoyed hunting.
David is survived by his loving spouse Peg Murdock whom he married February 19, 1966 in Anderson. He is also survived by his two daughters, Kelly Murdock Kichler Eric of Indianapolis and Kris Murdock Henderson Kevin Chalfant of Anderson; mother, Mary Case Hester of Anderson; father, Elliot Murdock Millie of Anderson; sister, Deb Cox Paul of Lafayette; two grandsons, Justin Henderson of Anderson and Colin Kichler of Indianapolis; and several nieces and nephews and cousins.
David had many special friends that were just like family, including his dog Buddha Boo. He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Jim Henderson; stepfather, Floyd Hester; and a brother, Garner Jenkins.
