David Mitchell Smyser, 42, Anderson, died March 30, 2007 at St. Johns Health System, Anderson after after a lengthly battle with heart disease.
He was born November 4, 1963 in Indianapolis, Indiana, and resided in Anderson, Indiana. He spent most of his early years in Lafayette. He was a graduate of West Lafayette High School, Class of 1982. He attended Vincennes University. He enjoyed fishing, golf and was an avid sports fan. He was an outstanding athlete and set several High School and City records. Most of all, David enjoyed spending time with his children, family and friends.
He is survived by his three children: Shelby Barbee of Lafayette, Sarah Millikan and Jay ”Mitchell” Smyser, both of Anderson. Mother: Geraldine ”Jerri” Davis of Colfax. Two Sisters: Susan Smyser Belorgey of Beaune, France and Laura Buit of Lafayette. Brother: Windsor ”Tag” Smyser of Lafayette. His fiancee: Cristy Woolard of Anderson and her children; Kaley, Jessica and Josh Woolard. Also surviving are several aunts, uncles nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father: Windsor S. ”Duke” Smyser.
