David Marvin McGuckin was born on October 25, 1976 in Norwalk, Ohio to David Alan McGuckin and Linda Kay (Arlin) McGuckin.  David passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on February 1, 2022.

David was the oldest of 4 children, He grew up strong of character, with an unbending will.  As a child, he collected comic books and taught himself how to draw comics with amazing accuracy. As a young boy, he had unique spatial and dimensional orientation skills that he exhibited in his drawings.  These skills led David to later study at the Denver Institute of Art. David loved computer science, science fiction, and gaming. He was also very passionate about politics.

After 9-11, David entered the United States Marine Corp in 2002 and he completed his recruitment training at the Marine Corp at Parris Island. David went on to serve two tours of duty in Iraq with 1st Battalion 3rd Marines. They were the first forces to enter Baghdad from Kuwait. David fought honorably throughout the battles in Iraq in the operation Enduring Freedom, Iraqi Freedom, Vigilant Response and Iraqi Freedom II. The U.S. Marine Corps promoted David to Corporal and he received an honorable medical discharge in 2005. David suffered from a rare, aggressive disease.

David’s love for his son gave him amazing perseverance in dealing with his ever worsening disabilities. David cherished and raised his son William through it all. He was able to see him grow to manhood and was enormously proud of his son, Billy. 

David is survived by his son, William David Krishna McGuckin, his parents David McGuckin, Linda and James Jennings,  and his siblings Tiffany Few, Chad McGuckin and Adam McGuckin.  He was preceded in death by Marvin and Katherine McGuckin, Edward and Joan Arlin, Clifford and Helen Jennings, David’s Grandparents.
