Muncie – David M.
David was born on February 1, 1942, the son of Claude R. and Dora (Campbell), Matchett, and was a 1960 graduate of Muncie Central High School.
Mr. Matchett worked as a Tool Maker for over 31 years with General Motors Corporation until his retirement in 1993. David was the Liberty Township Trustee for 16 years.
Survivors include his wife, Penni Matchett, Muncie; two sons, Marc Matchett, (wife-Brenda), Calhoun, Georgia, and Michael Matchett, (wife-Tammie), Muncie; a daughter, Debra Slaven, (husband-Larry), Muncie; a brother, Gerald “Gary” Matchett (wife-Marlene), Muncie; two sisters, Wanda Brees, Muncie, and Sue Mitchell, Syracuse; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Tommy Matchett; a grandson, Bo Carter; and a granddaughter, Shannon Slaven.
