David Lynn Smith went to meet the Lord June 24, 2012 after a courageous three year battle with colon cancer. David was born in Fort Walton Beach, Fla., June 9, 1954, the youngest of five children born to George and Christine Smith. He attended school in Fort Walton Beach and Mobile, Ala., and graduated from Fort Walton Beach High School in 1972.
David served in the U.S.
David was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was also an excellent cook, specializing in fried fish and cheese grits.
David is preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Jean Graves. He is survived by his sister, JoAnn Elrod and her husband Dave of Mary Esther, Fla.; brother, Buddy Smith and wife of Becky of Fort Walton Beach; brother, Jim Smith of Tallahassee, Fla.; and brother-in-law, Palmer Graves of Fort Walton Beach. He is also survived by nephews, Rob Smith, Jamie Smith, Brad Lingley, Lance Graves, Sean Graves, Tim Smith; nieces, Kristy Brooks, Deeana Walker, Shelly Maxwell, Anthea Fuller, Autumn Smith, Afton Kern, Kendra Evans, DeAnna McDaniel; and uncle and aunt, Frank and Peggy Smith.
