David Lynn Owen, 75, of Caldwell, passed away on September 7, 2020, surrounded by his wife and family. He was born February 9, 1945 to Lynden Dale Owen and Eleanor Aileen Little in Ventura, California. From 1962-1965 he was in the U.S. Air Force at Beale Air Force Base, Marysville, California. He was the Assistant Crew Chief for B-52 Bombers. In 1971 he was a Journeyman machinist for Smith Tool Co., Compton, California. He spent 4 years in the apprentice program at I.A.M. In 1975 he earned an A.A. Degree in Business at Cerritos College in California.

As a young boy the family traveled every year from California to Warren, Idaho, where he grew up and loved. At the age of 13 he lived on his own in a coal bin in McCall, Idaho, upon his retirement from Selkirk. He enjoyed his many trips to his cabin “Theodores” in Warren, Idaho and trips to Las Vegas, Nevada. He was always giving his twenty-five cent lectures to his grandchildren and anyone else who would listen. He was a jack of all trades. He knew or figured out how to work on just about anything.

He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Susie V. Owen; his sons, Chad (Kim) Owen, Chris Owen; his grandchildren, Jordan (Amanda), Ryann (Nick) and Sierra Owen. His brother Lonnie (Karen) Owen; and added family, Romaldo (Sarah) Vela and Maida and grandchildren, Romaldo Jr. and Romeo Vela and Armando J., Fabian, Leandro and Luciano and Mother-in-Law Juanita Vela; his close friends Terry and Bob from California and many family members and friends from Idaho.

He was preceded in death by his father Lynden Dale Owen, his mother Aileen Mayes, stepfather Dutch Mayes, younger brothers, Paul and Tim Mayes.

Gone but not Forgotten. Until we are together again.
